Apple reached an agreement disclosed in European Union regulatory filings to hire select team members and obtain a non exlusive license, rather than outright buying them out, for AI audio technology from Huxe.
Huxe was a short-lived AI-powered personalized audio app that generated custom podcasts, daily briefings and interactive listening experiences from a user's emails, calendar, interests and prompts.
The deal was signed on June 9, 2026, and revealed in October through the European Commission's Digital Markets Act transparency database. The specifics of the amount were not disclosed in the public regulatory filing.
